In the book, A Human Life, An Autobiography with Excursuses, by Daniel Webster Fisher, (written 1909), page 21, he states that he is the son of Daniel Fisher 1791 Pa and Martha Middleswarth Fisher born 1794 New Jersey. Daniel W Fisher says that his father was a native of Berks County, Pa, and was of German descent. Daniel W Fisher says his father spoke German only when someone German would come to visit, but he wrote in German. Daniel Webster Fisher said he had a German family bible, and Daniel Fisher 1794's father was Michael Fisher, and Michael Fisher's father was John Fisher.

Walter Fisher: The old homestead of Michael Fisher not long ago was still standing on Tulpehocken Creek, Berks Co, Pa — a stone building. Whether Michael Fisher preceded him to that locality I do not know, but probably so. I remember nothing concerning John or Jacob. Kathy (Mrs. Stier) resided in western Penn (Jefferson or Clarion Co, I think). Betsy resided in Sinking Valley. Both left several children.
